I'm leading a four-part monthly workshop, which started as a preparation for folks taking the BJCP tasting exam for the first time. Its gotten a lot of interest, we're up to fifteen people, with about half taking the exam and the other half just interested in developing better beer tasting practices and skills.
The first workshop is tonight. We'll go over the basics of sensory evaluation, spend some time on a family of related styles (this month its pale lagers), and then practice articulating what we are perceiving in four samples.
I put up an Introduction to Sensory Evaluation here and another list of Vocabulary Words here. Thoughts, comments, critiques are appreciated!
