Sad how tax ruins things.

The article suggests that the unintended consequence of those taxes improved distilling technology... and in my opinion, taxes allow us to build bridges, roads, public services of all kinds, including education and defense. Taxes may be viewed as un-American by some Americans, but the rest of the world views taxes as a way of providing the people with public goods - including healthcare. Corrupt governments are corrupt whether they steal your tax dollars or are corrupt in other ways. Good government is good even when (or perhaps because) they make us all pay our (fair) share towards the good of everyone - including yourself.

It was - even though I don't like Irish whisky. Heck even Welsh whisky beats an Irish hands down.
