Immersion chiller build: welding question

I followed the instructions from the video by Bobby from NJ and got the chiller built. Great design. Now I would like to put on a weld to hold the 2 upright pieces together to give it more stability. What is the best way to weld 2 parallel copper tube pieces together?

Could you just use a metal hose clamp?

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. I cut some small pieces of copper tubing to use as spacers to take some of the stress off the uprights., and then clamped them together.

FYI, that's not 'welding', it's soldering. I won't go into the semantics but there's a difference.

True. My bad. I use them interchangeably sometimes but I'm aware of the difference.

I soldered a piece of tubing between the two tubes on mine to stiffen them up.

What was your process to solder that since it isn't a joint? Do you clean the tube, apply flux and then solder as normal?

Yup.... Should be easy for yours keep the clamps in place and solder away
