Igloo Cooler Temperature Sensor Options

I'm looking to add a temperature sensor for the BCS-460 to my Igloo Cooler mash tun. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations on going the threaded NPT route with a weldless bulkhead versus a straight sensor through the lid or dangled over the side?

Are you going to be recirculating? A T at your drain would be the easiest route if so.

I will be recirculating, but it the pump turns off to hold the current temp, wouldn't the sensor then get in accurate readings?

Most people recirculate the entire time and have the sensors controlling the heating source.
