so i ordered ingredients for bier munchers brown ale.

decided to order 8 oz of roasted barely so i had some extra to play around with.
forgot to tell them i wanted it separate.
here is the grain bill of the recipie.
12.50 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
2.00 lb Corn, Flaked (1.3 SRM)
1.00 lb Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM)
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM)
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM)
0.10 lb Roasted Barley (300.0 SRM)
what i ended up with in the bag crushed is:
12.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
1.00 lb Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM)
0.5 lb Roasted Barley (300.0 SRM)
I had the other ingredients already.
can i substitute the roasted barley for the chocolate malt and still have a drinkable brown ale?
I'm still too new to know the differences between the dark malts or how they impart flavor other than i've read roasted barley is on the bitter side.
worst case i run back to the homebrew shop and use my bag of grains for a stout.
