Has anyone attended previously? I'm new to competitions and I don't see it as a spectator sport. When is a good time to show up?

Competitions are usually never spectator events except maybe the Awards ceremony which per the comp website is 5 pm Saturday. During the actual judging, it's just tables upon tables of judges, well, judging beer. If you want to hang around for the whole thing you should volunteer to be a steward if it's not too late. Most comps also look for volunteers to help.
