During my brew day my regular thermometer was missing. Not thinking, I used my hydrometer that has a thermometer in it to check temps. Well that thermometer tops out at 120F. Basically this separated the liquid inside leaving the blue measuring liquid stuck some at 100 and some up at 120. It’s a newer hydrometer I doubt that it would be mercury inside?

Anyone have this happen and fixed it?

Thanks for the reply
Had it in the freezer for about an hr or more with no luck... should I just keep it in there?
not in water just standing in it

I don't know. I just thought shocking it to the other extreme might pull the liquid back down. Sorry it didn't work.
