Okay, was doing a batch sparge Saturday and ran into an issue. When my MLT gets to empty, it creates a glug which results in a shot of grain and fines. I was hoping to catch this and cut off the flow before, but I ended up with a stuck sparge so this happened earlier than I expected.
I know in hindsight I should have emptied the keggle back into the MLT and started the sparge over. But this was the first time this has happened so I wasn't prepared.
After the boil I had quite a bit of suspended protein floaters. I'm wondering how much unusual bitterness I can expect. And how much non-liquid experienced brewers would accept in such a case before pouring it back and re-lautering the whole batch?
