how much apple juice do i need?

hello my daughter has bought me a home brew kit and i want to make some cider,i have got the yeast and every thing included in the kit,it does not tell me how much apple juice to use,i have got a 25 ltr drum,can some one please tell me how much apple juice to use?

I would leave yourself at least a gallon+ (3-5 ltrs) of headspace in your primary fermenting vessel, so 5 gallons (19 ltrs) or so should be about right.

If you plan to transfer to a secondary for bulk aging, I would start with 5.5 gallons (20 ltrs) then when you rack you will be able to top up your secondary to the very top. (assuming it's a 5 gallon glass carboy)

Headspace in primary is good...headspace in secondary is bad. ;)
