So what is the longest any of you have let a starter just kind of hang out until you pitched it?

I just had one that I used today that I prepared last Saturday. Smelled ok to me, drained off most of the starter beer on top, and pitched the yeast, aside from a strong yeast smell, there was nothing the old sniffer could pick up.

Anyone had one sit out longer than that?

Yes, but not much longer. If I had to let it hang out for a couple weeks, though, I would not worry about it, unless I just left it wide open. If it smells good, it's good. RDWHAHB.:mug:
