How long can you let the wort sit before you pitch.

brewing today but did not start my yeast til today?

yeast starter about 6:30
will finish wort about 10 tonight.
was going to pitch tomorrow

I would chill my wort down to something like 40 degrees, fridge temp, to prevent any bacterial growth and then pitch the yeast tommorow.

Because of my crazy work schedule I've let mine sit as much as 24 hours without any ill effects. But it's always been put in my freezer/ferm chamber at 60-65 degrees until I pitch.

It all depends on how well you sanitized. It can be fine after several days if you keep it cool (low 70s), but if you have any bacteria, mold can start growing pretty quickly.

Thanks to all that replied. I sanitized like crazy and gonna let it ride for 24 hours. all brewing and fermenting is done in my "shed"/office in which i installed a A/C unit so I have cranked it to 68 and will see how things work tomorrow.
