Hops in my mash

I have been experimenting with hops in my strike water. I tried boiling them In and dropping g to mash temp, I also tried just taking them to mash temp. Lastly I tried just adding hops right to the mash. I put smoke and dried banana in my mash and it turned out pretty good. Any suggestions?

What are you trying to achieve that you need suggestions with?

To b honest not really sure, I was just trying yo find new ways to infuse flavors. I have been brewing so much I kind of got tunnel vision with extreme experimenting! I want super bitter, dry, and light if this is possible. I may b way off base with my thinking but I would like some out of the box ideas.

I'd guess you lose IBUs from hop oil absorption by grain.
