Hops ablaze?

Just wondering if anyone knows how the western wildfires are affecting this year's hops harvesting. If you live out west, you are in my thoughts. I hope you are safe and not too horribly affected.

Hops in Oregon were mostly, if not all, harvested before the fires really started here in Western Oregon. Already seeing some fresh hop beers on tap and in package.
The grape harvest will be something different. I know some vineyards are rushing early harvest to avoid smoke taint.

Glad to hear the hops survived! Believe it or not, we're experiencing some haze here in Minnesota from the wildfires. Can't imagine what it must be like for you. Not much you can do about it, I guess, so relax and have a homebrew. Cheers!

Howdy @MikeInStillwater I live in Sacramento. I saw the nights sky for the first time in a few weeks last night. Granted an hour up the road in Tahoe its hasnt been to bad from what I hear. Few pics from over the past week and a half.

Most west coast hops are “smoked” this year..

Yep. Wednesday night I even thought I smelt a burning smell in the air. Interesting how these things make it here. Sally should clear the air in NOVA.

Today was especially overcast even though we were supposed to have clear skys. I know what you mean about the burning smell. My wife and I smelled it too but we live in the country so we just thought someone was burning.
