Plan on entering two beers into my local county fair competition, a Dubbel and a Hefeweizen. Problem is im not sure what category to put them in.

These are the categories they have listed:

2710. Ale, Amber (Reds, Bitters)
2711. Ale, Dark (Brown)
2712. Ale, Dark (Stouts)
2713. Ale, Light (American to Pales)
2714. Lagers, Dark
2715. Lagers, Light (Pilsners)
2716. Specialty Brews (Fruit, Spices) - specify on form

Any suggestions?

Very strange categories. I suppose the hefe would go in light ales and the dubble would go in dark (brown) ales. Maybe.

Obviously not a BJCP event. I'd contact them for clarification.

Ya thats why im unsure. I emailed and haven't gotten a response back yet. Has me second guessing if I should enter or not. A Dubbel and a Hefe aren't exactly crowd pleasures of the BMC drinking crowd. If its gonna be just a couple joe schmo's sitting around sipping beer and providing their own personal opinion, I don't see any point in entering.
