Got busy and put together some washable, removable insulation for the HLT and MLT of my 3 vessel eHERMS. MLT is 100% done, and has edging on the cut edges now. HLT is 90% done, but the hard part is over, just needs grommets and edging.

Each one is 50" x 18" with cutouts for the fittings and grommets to tie it all together. They consist of a doubled-over moving blanket. A 72" x 80" moving blanket ($15 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTVGT4K/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 ) provided enough material for both with some leftover

I used the MLT one already and got better performance than the layer of reflectix that used to be on there, so I figured it would be worthwhile to put together one for the HLT too. Mash tun at 150F was cool to the touch during the mash. Should speed initial heat up and ramping significantly.

Not too shabby.

Nice job! I was thinking about something like that a few months ago.

Have you thought about wrapping some thick plastic sheeting around and sealing the top edge. It may stay dry and cleaner that way?

I was thinking about making something like this that is custom fitted to my kettle mashtun. I feel like there should be someone out there making these but apparently there is not....
