I have a german Hef fermenting and after 12 days I had zero airlock activity. I pulled a sample with a sanitized sample taker to test the SG, sanitized the airlock, covered the carboy with sanitized foil while i measured. After replacing the airlock i all of the sudden have some moderate airlock activity. Wondering if this is cause for concern ie sign of an infection?

How long since you took the sample? Does the beer look normal? Anything odd growing on top?

I wouldn't worry about it though. It's probably just some CO2 coming out of solution. Anytime I bump the carboy or reseat the bung I get some airlock activity. No big deal.
