I'm wanting to insulate my HERMS for better efficientcy.

What type of insulation could I use for high heat applications?

Has anyone had success with any peticular insulation?

Prefer it was FDA approved. :mug:

Sankie Keg for a brew pot, 48 qt cooler for MLT, Newcastle mini keg for a Heat exchanger with a 1500watt element, Chugger pump with 1/2" silicone hose, and a 16qt pot for a grant tank so I'm not sucking off the bottom of my mash. Filled system with 170 F water to get a good start but couldn't get the temp above 152F with system running. Have thought about insulating mini keg and grant tank and putting lids on them to minimize heat loss. Also considered using cooking oil in the mini keg to get temps above 212F. Any suggestions?
