What was your starting gravity? And your current is 1.005 or that's the target?

my current is 1005
I was til it needs to be 1002 ideally

today's reading in the hydrometer is 1008
surely it's meant to be getting lower
it's not bubbling
shall I stick with it
can I do any thing to it
or shall I just be patient???

How are you measuring your gravity? I know it seems like an odd question, but different methods can cause the misreadings that you might be experiencing.

Did you check the gravity at the same temp? The absence of bubbles does not mean it's not still fermenting. I would wait a few days to a week and check the gravity as close as you can get it to 60*.

Patience is key with most things brewing.

Your previous reading was 1005 I believe? There is no way for it now to be 1008 unless you've added something to it. So I'm thinking it's finished fermentation.

Edit: Wait..... This was all today? Yes give it more time, as others have said here, a little more patience. :)
