Help with bottling in Champagne style bottles

I have a spiced old ale that i would like to cork and cage in champagne bottles this weekend so that they will be ready for the holiday season. I have a whine corker but have not a clue on how to cork and cage champagne bottles. Could anyone give me some tips or tricks on how to proceed.
