I've never used whole hops before, but when a neighbor with a ton of cascade plants offered me some I jumped. I've never used whole hops before, so I did a very quick search and learned that hops should be stored in the freezer.
So I threw them in a ziploc bag and put them in the freezer. Then I went on vacation.
It turns out that I should have dried them and vacuum sealed them before putting them in the freezer. And I don't think I'm supposed to thaw them and re freeze.
Any recommendations? Should I just use them as they are, thaw and dry, etc...? If I use them as is, how do I convert to pellet hops? Assume 80% water and use 5oz of the frozen whole hops like 1oz of pellet?
Thanks
