maybe even a double...

would love to here some thoughts i'm bored today..

13 lbs 2 row
1 lb dark munich
.50 lb crystal 40
4 Oz carapils

I've got

1oz Magnum

5oz centennial

1oz citra

2oz amarillo

1oz northern brewer

1oz us golding

Any thoughts on hop additions/times?

I'm making a starter with cali ale

I can order some dry hops online

You can't get to a IIPA with the amount of grain you have.

I would use all of the 2 row, and the carapils - just because

Hop with

1 oz. Magnum at 60 minutes
1 oz. Centennial at 15 minutes
1 oz. Centennial at 5 minutes
then whirlpool/steep
1 oz. Centennial, 1 oz. Citra
Dry hop with
2 oz Centennial and 2 oz Amarillo

Don't use the crystal or munich.

Approx.
OG 1.065
IBU 66.5
SRM 4.5
ABV 6.5

This is about the same as what I was going to post, except I'd use the crystal (it depends if you like it in IPA's)

You could get an IIPA by making a smaller batch with the same grains and hops.

Crystal in an IPA... Maybe just a little.

IIPA with what was listed.. Right! I was just thinking 5 gallon batch.

I'd use half pound Munich and maaaaybe quarter pound crystal, but mash that sucker low. Then I'd boil for 90 to max those magnum and hopstand the rest. The extended boil will enhance flavor too.

I would use the c40 and move the dry hops to the whirlpool and not dry hop.

I'm weird though. Lately I have liked some residual sweetness in IPAs and have stopped dry hopping in favor of late additions. My sense of smell is lame and so the aroma of dry hopping doesn't do a lot for me.

Regardless of that, you have a good mix of hops for a nice citrusy ipa.
