Just a quick note to introduce myself. My name is Mike and I have been brewing for a little over a year now along with my friend Dave (can be found here under the name DHerder). We have been doing all grain brewing since last summer and wish we could find more time to drink our beer in order to increase our production.

That is an interesting mash tun. Is is dairy equipment? What is the false bottom?

I am not sure whether it began it's life as a piece of dairy equipment or if it was just custom built. It is a double-walled stainless mash tun with a 220v element for stepped infusions. I will take some better photos of it and post them for you.
