Hello from Southington, CT. I'm returning to homebrewing after a 20yr break.
I started brewing back in college at UConn-I used to brew in the kitchen at Batterson in the "Frats" and it fermented in my closet. I can't believe I did that. I kept it up for another year or so after I graduated, but it became annoying both getting and cleaning bottles. I had cases of homebrew in my parents basement till my mother told me they started blowing up. Whoops. Everything got chucked.
I got a kegerator a few years ago and realized about a year ago I could keg instead of bottle. I've been planning ever since until recently when I bought all the equipment I felt I needed. Of course, it's not.
I brewed my first IPA last week from a recipe on a forum here. It's happily fermenting in my basement right now.
I've been trolling the forums for a while, but figured I'd jump in now.
