I've just transferred my very first brew into a pressure barrel after a week in the fermentor. Its a malt extract kit and i added a light spray malt during the transfer as per the instructions.

Im now thinking i would prefer bottling it. Could i just bottle it after 2 weeks and would i need to add anything else?

Many thanks, stu.

You could bottle it. After 2 weeks (in a 70-80F location) the malt you added will have been eaten by the yeasts, so you would need to add 3/4 cup of sugar, or the equivalent in malt, honey, etc. (There are tables online which describe how much of each for the volume of beer you want to carbonate) to the bottling bucket when you go to bottle it.

The yeast will then have enough sugar to turn into carbon dioxide to carb the beer.
