I am fairly me to home brewing and am about to do a wine kit for my in-laws. I want to split the batch and use the oak chips on half. On the batch I am "wooding" should i use all the wood chips or just half of the bag?

:D

It all depends on your taste, do you like lots of oak or not? You can always add more and let the wine set a couple extra weeks... add half at first, taste, and then add more if desired.

There is no right answer other than it depends on what you want.

IMO kits do not come with nearly enough oak, and I always end up adding more on top of what the kit provides. But that is just me, others tastes will differ.
