Quick intro - been lurking for a while as my buddy and I got sorted out with a kit and some extract brew. Used a Brewer's Best American Amber and it's been in the basement fermenting for about a week now. Seems to be coming along, although after buying and reading "How To Brew" at the book store yesterday I realize we did a lot of stuff wrong(ish).

Been drinking beer since I was about 4 years old and enjoyed different styles over the years.

Lucky to live in Toronto where we have a good number of small craft breweries that have really come forward in the last few years with lots to offer and plenty of imagination, especially lots of cask ales around nowadays. A nice fruity American IPA on cask is probably my favourite thing in the world nowadays and summer/patio season approaches.

I just bought the Palmer book for my e-reader, and it is excellent! Tonight, as I was trying to decide which brewing book I wanted to buy next (Clone Brews, Complete Joy of Homebrewing, or Yeast: The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation), I discovered that the Toronto library has all three of them and many more brewing resources.
