For a variety of reasons I need to make my own grain mashing bag (the BIAB thingamajig that you mash your grains in). I have a choice between using polyester or nylon fabric. Assuming that all other relevant factors (e.g. weave, thickness, mesh etc.) of the material used are equal, which one is best suited for making a grain steeping bag?

A quick Google run tells me that in general, nylon is stronger than polyester, but polyester has a better heat resistance. Other than that the only details I can find apply to using these materials in clothing, tents, parachutes etc. which tells me little about how well they hold up in the brew pot.

So. What would the brewologists here suggest?

Tnx! :mug:
