Sorry if this doesn’t belong here, I know it isn’t quite electric brewing, however I am an electric brewer. I figured it’s electrical, so I put it here where it might get noticed by those who are electrical savvy.
Purchased an old used bodine gear motor off eBay. Got it cheap, seller said cord was cut, untested. Cheap enough that if it isn’t operational, I won’t be too upset, otherwise if it does end up working it, it should be a pretty decent score. Tried searching the motor part number and can’t find a thing about it.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, My experience is with DC 2 wire motors. Motor has 5 wires: 2 red wires, 2 black wires, and a ground. Get continuity with .026ohm across the 2 red wires and .023 across the 2 black wires. OL between any red and black combination. Can anyone confirm what the wiring setup of this motor should be? I’m not certain, but I believe the motor might need a starter capacitor, but I’m hoping to at least just wire it up and see if I can get it to turn by starting it by hand, the I can confirm that it at least operates.
I’ve attached a couple pics of the motor. Thanks all for any help
