I'm sure this has been covered before but my Google-fu is weak today.

What temp should a glycol resuvoir be set to? I'm currently fermenting an ale at 66f and a lager at 54f. Eventually I'll cold crash the ale and start lagering around 34f.

Currently I've got my glycol set to 23f. But I'm concerned that it really doesn't Need to be that cold and I'm just wasting electricity and wear on the chiller

Any suggestions?

I don't have any authoritative answer for you but I would think 5-10 ºF colder than your coldest fermentation temp would be plenty. The circulation pumps will run more but the compressor will run less.

When you go to cold crash you will definitely want to have the temp cooler though.

I would be curious if anyone has anything info though.
