I was about to repurpose a gas post from a busted keg to use on a carboy for transfers. Just before I was about to use it, I found that it actually came apart one more step than I expected and (to no one’s surprise here, I’d bet) there was more gunk. With no PBW on hand, would it be okay to boil it for 15 minutes to at least sanitize the gunk I can’t reach before use?

Whoops, nevermind. That gunk was actually all that held the pieces snugly. It was also holding the pin retainer in place which is now somewhere in the kitchen. At least I have time to prepare properly for my next transfer!
