Built a keezer a year ago, finally got around to hooking up the gas and beverage lines for the third tap.

One of the three gray gas disconnects does not seal itself when it's removed from the post. These are ball lock disconnects.

It isn't a big problem because each line is set up with it's own valve, but has anyone else experienced this? Is the disconnect somehow stuck, and is there a way to repair it? Can always just replace it if need be, but curious if there's something obvious I'm missing.

Probably the o-ring on the pin that pushes up and down inside the disconnect. They're easy to replace.

If you don't already know, the disconnect can be easily disassembled by unscrewing the cap on the back. There's a nice big slot for a quarter or screwdriver or similar. Once you open it up, I'll bet the problem becomes obvious. It's got to be the oring on the plunger, or the spring behind it.

I somehow hadn't realize you could disassemble those! That's awesome.

The smaller o-ring is broken, now I just have to figure out where to find a replacement.

Thanks!

That picture is actually incorrect--the poppet/stem is upside down. The gasket should be down, not up.

To OP: I have spares on all those parts, just for times like this. I had a poppet in the keg post where the plastic part had a crack, same deal. Wouldn't seal. Swapped it out for a spare I had, and fixed. Those parts are pretty cheap.

Here's an example: https://www.homebrewing.org/Ball-Lock-Disconnect-Repair-Kit_p_4387.html

AIH has a ton of other spare parts in that section: https://www.homebrewing.org/Ball-Lock-Disconnect-Repair-Kit_p_4387.html

You're right. I didn't even notice. I fixed in in the post above. There was something else in the pic that bothered me, fixed that too. Thanks.
