Just did my first SMASH and my own recipe :rockin:
I've had some trouble with a harsh alcoholic taste my last few batches so I wanted to simplify things and get my process down a little and instead of recirculating in my HERMS I just batch sparged.
I also used some of the bulk grain I got from LHBS:
Muntons Perle /Pale Whole Malt to see if I could start using it as my base malt in all my future brews. Our LHBS is very small and just starting(like me) but only stocks limited grain and a few supplies. They were nice enough to let me order a 55lb bag when they last ordered.
I just dry hopped and tasted the sample. MMMmmmm it was good.
Good mouth feel, tart, fruity, peach?, and vary aromatic.
I cant wait to keg this and have it for Christmas!
