I brewed a English Pale Ale that had a SG of 1.054. After 2 weeks it was at 1.008. I then racked it over on to Strawberries due to a late request. After I rack it off the Strawberries 7 days later the FG was down to 1.004. I now by adding the strawberries it added some sugars.

So, My question is since the fruit added sugar would I need to add a few points to my SG or due I use the original SG and the new FG to get my ABV?

Use your original OG. If you do the calculation, you are likely to find the fruit actually lowered your effective OG. Remember, that while fruit has sugars (about 10% by weight), the extra volume acts against you.

So, If I use my OG which FG reading do I use? 1.008 before fruit or 1.004 after fruit to get my ABV%?
