I'm so sad (maybe??) I had an issue with my temp controller and froze my best beer ever.
Russian Imperial Stout 10.4% ABV 87 IBU
I'm asking for help in this forum because all of the other "Frozen Beer" posts I have read do not talk about a beer that (uncarbonated) The beer froze after being in the secondary fermenter since mid February. It was not a solid block but did freeze quite a bit. I'm guessing 1.5-2 in thick. The temp of the beer was -10F for over 8 hrs. It is also oaked.
I have been so patient and the tastings along the way made me believe it was going to be my best ever I was looking forward to entering it in winter competitions and sharing with friends over the winter holidays
Can anyone give a really in depth description of what took place in relation to flavor compounds and what I can expect in the finished product
big Russian Imperial Stout 10.4% ABV
Thank you
