Fresh Orange Peel in Wort

Last week I brewed Northern Brewers La Petite Orange extract kit and decided to add fresh orange peels to add more orange flavor. After doing some reading on these forums that it would have been better to have used dried orange peel. So my question is will the fresh orange peel spoil in the wort and should I rack to a secondary. So far it has fermented just fine in the primary for a week and was planning on letting it stay there for 3 more weeks before bottling now I am wondering if it will be better to rack to a secondary next weekend or sooner if the orange peel spoils. Thanks for any advice, first post on forums but long time reader!
