Is there a mathematical formula for determining the amount of Co2(in lb.'s) required to carbonate a given beer to a given carbonation level in a given size vessel? In other words I am trying to find out exactly how much Co2 I will use carbonating and serving a certain beer. Thanks in advance for any help!

one mole of CO2 is 44 grams, and 22.4 liters in volume at STP

if you have a 5 gallon (18.9L) container, there is 37 grams of CO2 in it at atmospheric pressure (eg. with the lid open). at 14.7 psi there is 74 grams of CO2 is in the container. etc

So you are saying if I wanted to get Co2 to dissolve in beer at 14.7 psi it would take about 74 grams of Co2?
