Making an Alpine Nelson and I forgot the whirlpool hops, 2oz Nelson- 1oz Southern Cross . Only 12 hours in fermentation. Think I could just boil some water, let cool a little, add hops, chill and add to fermentation?

I've been brewing for years but I put this under the beginners forum because it is such a beginner move.

Any other ideas?

:goat: p.s. why the HE 2*L is there a goat in the similes?

Not really. You will get that " biotransformation " effect when ading hops during active fermentation, so I would say don't stress over it. If the water profile is created in such way with more sulfates, to enhance the dryness of the beer, you will most likely like the end result just as much.

BeerSmith shows the whirlpool adds 12 IBUs. Think it will make any difference?

I've cooled the wort too much before adding whirlpool hops, and the beer wasn't as bitter as normal. So yes, I think it will make a difference. But mine was ok, and I'm pretty sure yours will be, too.
