First timer from Louisiana

Has anyone ever brewed in a cast iron pot? Thanks for any advice you can give

I never have but that thing has got to be heavy as ship. Add few gallons of water its going to be even heavier. Hope u don't plan on moving it. I have heard that if its not covered in enamel or other coating its probably not a good idea but I am not speaking from experience.
