Anyone ever use the spiral white oak? It's all they had at the local homebrew shop.

I am making a 5gallon clone of jai alai white oak ipa, and was wondering how much you would use? And when?

Thanks!

No more than an ounce. During secondary/keg or after fermentation in primary. Expect no more than 2 weeks needed BUT sample the beer every 3-4 days for oakiness. If you say to yourself "I taste oak" then you've waited too long.

With oak, less is more.
