Did my first partial mash last night and used the BIAB technique. Little less than 2 gallons strike water for 3.75 lbs of grain heated to 160 degrees F then put the pot in the oven which I had preheated to 170 degrees F and turned off. Worked great, temp was still at 152 degrees F when I took it out 45 min later. :rockin:
Gravity reading was right where it was supposed to be on the dot before I pitched the yeast. 1.050.
I can't believe how easy it was, honestly it's as easy or easier than full extract and it's a bit cheaper.
Kit was AHB roasted pecan nut brown ale.
