This was my first attemt at brewing and I pick a witbeer. Kind of a "shock top" clone. Directions said to put the grains in a bag and steep them for 30 min/ up to 170 deg.f when it came to the boil I put 1 oz of Saaz pellets in at 60min (in a bag, not sure if thats a must) then with 10 min left i put 1 oz of coriander seed, ( un-crushed, directions didnt say to crush it or not) 1 oz of bitter orange peel ( these were added to the bag as well). I also was to to take 5-8 oranges and puree them and add into boil with 10 min left. I had another 1 oz of Saaz at 1 min.
After doing some thinking after everything was cleaned up, I was wondering if I should have put the coriander and orange peel directly into the water so it would transfer go into the fermenter? also did i screw up by not cracking coriander?
