I am buying a new wort chiller and I just have one question before I buy it. I only do abour 3-5 gallon boils. My pot only holds about 6-7 gallons. If I am doing a 5 gallon boil and my pot only holds about 6 gallons...Should I worry about how many gallons I use to boil?? How much water volume does the immersion chiller add when placing it into the wort? Last thing I need is to buy a chiller and have to lower my volume of boil...

ICs only use a small amount of volume. The amount of liquid that is boiled off after 60 minutes is much more voluminous than an IC. you should be fine.

Just a tip on a new chiller.

Remove the tubing and apply a dab or two of silicon sealant on the hose connections, put them back on and let it cure as directed. Then test it out before you use it for the first time.
Avoids any accidents from a minor leak into your wort.
