Fermentation question with picture. What is this floating in my beer?

It's been in the fermenter for about 10 hours now. Is this an early sign of infection? Almost looks like the cold break happening again, floating in the carboy? (It's an IPA)

Help!

Looks EXACTLY like a cold break to me, so I would guess that it is, indeed, proteins coagulating. If it's something nasty, you'll know in a day or two...
 
Will that kind of thing eventually sink to the bottom? Or is that something you'll have to work around when racking to secondary/bottling bucket
 
It's definitely break material, and it will sink to the bottom with the rest of the trub. Perfectly normal.

There is no way you'd have any kind of visible infection in ten hours. Relax.
 
Thanks for the replies. I'm relaxed, and a good bit has dropped out at this point. It's my 4th brew - learning stuff every time!
