Ladies and gentlemen, may I present my hero.

Mind if I ask where the recipe originated? Was it trial and error, or based on feedback from Driftwood?

I found it in a blog called closer to the hop, he brewed 4 batches with the help from the brewmaster from driftwood

Phillips just put out there 12 aniversary beer called Monkey Drummer 11.9% avb

I just did the taste comparison side by side we can't really tell the difference, I did a blind one with my friend and he liked mine better without knowing what the real Tug was

There is no munich in Fat Tug.

In fact, the head brewer at Driftwood has stated emphaticly that Munich has no place in an IPA. Nor does caramunich, melanoiden, vienna, etc. The Germans didn't colonise India, the English did.

Cheers.

If that's true, then he may make nice beers, but he's the worst kind of pedant. By that logic Cilantro should only be in Greek food, and Tomatoes have no place in Italian food.

Anyway... I'm looking forward to trying this recipe, Munich and all. I'm curious as to why there are minutes put beside the grains. Doesn't seem to make much sense, unless you're adding part of the mash later, like acidulated malt.

Edit: I lowered the 2-row to 12.5 pounds, but still had an OG of 1.083. Going to be a strong one.
