I am getting into using camlocks. I bought an F style camlock to screw into my stainless ball valve. Is Teflon tape needed when screwing the f cam into the ball valve? Can't find the info on bargain fittings.
yes anytime you're mating two metal threaded fittings you should use teflon tape to reduce the chance of galling.
This is true for taper threads, not for straight threads as on tube fittings.
Are you referring to compression fittings, like a locking nut on a straight shaft? They don't need it, because the seal is created on the ferrule, flare, or gasket.
