Expiration/halflife of grain?

This may be a noob question but how long would a bag/50lb of grain last in a bucket with a gamma lid on it, before it is bad? (possibly in zippys).
Time difference between unmilled and milled?

unmilled in the bag, dry and dark? about a year or 2

About a year unmilled in a cool dry place, i leave mine in the bag and store in twist top garbage cans. Milled maybe a month, paper bags would be better to help absorb excess moisture. Hope that will help im sure someone might have a better answer.

i don't leave grains alone longer than a month after they're milled, mostly because there's a beer that needs to be brewed. a couple months would be the limit i'd leave milled grain , though
