I live in the bay area of California and we have had very cool summer here. Much cooler than the rest of the u.s. anyways. I have two hop varieties, Willamette an Chinook. Both are "first years". So my willametter only put out an ounce of dry hops. Then stopped producing about a month ago. My Chinook gave me about 5 dry ounces. I had noticed last week it was still producing the little hairy cone buds. I just finished harvesting a moment ago and all the little buds are browning and dying off. It this an indicator of end of production season? our temperatures have been around low 70s during the day low 50s at night. Lots of fog and cloudiness too. So my question, is the weather affecting my plants or some other issue that set in during the last week or so?
