For what we are using it for? Mine goes from 1 (warmest) to 7 (coldest). The instruction manual recommends to start off at level 4, and then adjust 1 step at a time every hour if you need it to go colder, so the thermostat can better regulate the temperature.
I had it at 4 all day and it froze my water bottle solid by the time I got back from work. I notice that the compressor turns on every 45 minutes or so for like 10 minutes (I'm assuming this is normal, but I have been opening the freezer up to take measurements).
If I wasn't going to attach my temp controller, would putting it at 4 instead of 7 save electricity, or will it cause the fridge to not get as cold, and thus, have to keep cycling?
