DME starter batch??!!

hi guys,

Making 1 or 2 liter starter out of DME is a pain in the butt, boiling 2 liter of water with DME, 30 min , chill it , 15 min and this time you gotta be right there to check it. so i was asking myself this : can i make like 10 or 15 liter batch of DME starter , put it in the fridge in multiple gallon jars and use as i need ?

I use a pressure canner and make big batches of starter wort. Sterilized in mason jars and no refrigeration needed. Really convenient.

I've heard of people making large starters and freezing the liquid in ziplock bags.

You probably don't need to boil 30 min, just long enough to make sure there's nothing living in it. I think the last starter I made I boiled for 5 min.

yeah I've never boiled for 30mins. usually 10-15 will do the trick.

After you sparge save extra wort and freeze for later use. When needed toss in pot, boil for 15 minutes and pitch into starter.
