I'm looking to alter my single port BMB lid in such a way that I can pressure transfer the beer into the keg with CO2. Initially I was thinking that I could somehow seal my carboy cap onto the port but I can't think of a way to do that in a way that makes any sense.

My second idea was to drill a small hole into the lid that I can insert a gasket/stainless racking cane into while using the already existing port and bung for supplying CO2.

Thoughts?

For your reference here are the lid and carboy cap.

Not sure if you have already figured something out and I am sure there are better/easier ways but my two ideas are:

Put one of these (https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/npttokegpost.htm) in the lid and then put a gas post on it. The only problem with that setup is you'll need an NPT nut and washers. Not sure how sturdy those lids are. If it worked there would be no need to take off your gas disconnect.

Another option would be to put one of these https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/spigotsmall.htm in the lid, and connect a piece of hose to one of these t https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/flare14xbarb14.htm then assuming your gas disconnect was a flare you could swap the connection.

I'm not sure that either option would be 100% airtight but I think they would both work for being able to pressure transfer with a racking cane in the existing port.

Ultimately I think you original idea of just drilling a hole in the lid for a racking cane would be the simplest, then you would only need a rubber grommet for a bucket lid and a #000 stopper. Plug the hole during fermentation, insert cane and hook up co2 to transfer

I would just get a two-hole stopper and use a SS racking cane in one, and a hose barb with gas-in fittings on the other.
